Eminem has confirmed the release date for his upcoming album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce),” set for July 12. He has also released the second single from the album titled “Tobey,” a collaborative effort featuring Big Sean and BabyTron.
The cover art for “Tobey” cleverly nods to Spider-Man, specifically the iconic meme where Spider-Man is pointing at another Spider-Man. This new track, lasting 4 minutes and 44 seconds, follows “Houdini,” making them the first two singles unveiled from the 19-track album.
The song opens with BabyTron’s lines in the chorus, drawing a humorous parallel between Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and his own artistic prowess, saying, “Tobey Maguire got bit by a spider, but see, me, it was a goat. If you want space, I hope you take your helmet off soon as you get up to Venus and choke.”
Big Sean delivers the second verse, with Eminem wrapping up the track with the third. Eminem’s lyrics play on the same theme, “Tobey Maguire got bit by a spider, me? Must’ve got bit by a goat. I used to dream as a kid I would grow to be one, I hope that I inspire hope for you to go get what you desire most.”
