Sampha has rejuvenated one of Lahai’s most cherished tracks. After teasing a collaboration earlier this week, he teamed up with Little Simz to create a richer and more expansive version of “Satellite Business,” now aptly named “Satellite Business 2.0.”
Originally, the Lahai song was brief, lasting just a minute-and-a-half and serving as more of an interlude. However, the new version extends nearly five minutes, providing a fuller listening experience.
“This song has evolved from playing it live over the last year and some change taking in the energy that the audiences have given to us on stage guiding it to this current incarnation that I’m so glad to be sharing with you all today”, Sampha shared on Instagram, highlighting this track as the only Lahai song to undergo such transformation.
About halfway through, “Satellite Business 2.0” picks up speed, setting the perfect backdrop for Little Simz to deliver a powerful closing verse.
Sampha also shared his thoughts on the collaboration, noting that he has been a long-time admirer of Little Simz’s work. “Little Simz’s music has been close to my heart and ears for some time now … She’s one of my favorite artists. Her confidence and creative bravery are so refreshing. It’s amazing to see someone giving so much to their art.”
