Montell Fish has recently introduced two new singles, “DISTRACTION” and “SCREAM MY NAME.” These tracks reflect Fish’s trademark style, featuring his recognizable vocal delivery and lyrics that explore themes of love, obsession, and uncertainty. Alongside these singles, Fish is set to release his latest album, Charlotte, on August 23.
The single “DISTRACTION” offers a serene listening experience, with Fish‘s gentle voice weaving through an electric guitar melody. The song explores themes of intense fixation, with lyrics such as, “You’re such a distraction, I swear you’re made for my madness,” building up to a powerful finale where he laments the repetitiveness of his situation.
On the other hand, “SCREAM MY NAME” highlights Fish’s vocal skills, employing a falsetto that resonates through a backdrop of heavy reverb. The track expresses feelings of doubt and yearning, captured in the recurring line, “you haven’t screamed my name in a while.” The upcoming album, Charlotte, continues the narrative started in his 2022 album JAMIE, exploring personal themes such as memory, attachment, loss, and personal growth.
Fish is also preparing for a comprehensive North American tour named after the album. The Charlotte tour will cover 20 cities including Boston, Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, Toronto, and New York City, concluding in October 2024.
