Conor McGregor Delays MMA Return for Boxing Match with Logan Paul

Conor McGregor‘s highly anticipated return to mixed martial arts will be delayed as the former two-weight UFC champion pivots to boxing. McGregor took to X to clarify recent rumors and confirm his next move—a boxing exhibition in India against YouTube personality turned boxer Logan Paul.

“The rumors of a bout with Topuria are false. I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India. I have agreed. I will then seek my return to the Octagon,” McGregor stated.

Since suffering a leg break in his TKO loss to Dustin Poirier in 2021, McGregor has not competed. His planned comeback at UFC 303 this June against Michael Chandler was aborted due to a foot injury just two weeks before the event. McGregor’s only professional boxing match was in 2017 against Floyd Mayweather Jr., where he was defeated in the 10th round in a bout dubbed “The Money Fight” and “The Biggest Fight in Combat Sports History.”

Logan Paul, on the other hand, has participated in four exhibition boxing matches, achieving a draw against Mayweather, a draw and a loss against KSI, and a victory over MMA fighter Dillon Danis. Recently, Paul has been active in the WWE, claiming the U.S. Championship in November 2023. The date for the McGregor versus Paul fight remains unset.
