Ethel Cain Announces New Album ‘Willoughby Tucker, I Will Always Love You’

Ethel Cain has announced her sophomore record, Willoughby Tucker, I Will Always Love You, to be released in August 2025. The record is a prequel to her 2022 debut album of hers that received so much acclaim from critics, Preacher’s Daughter. It tells the story of her high school boyfriend, Willoughby Tucker, who has already been referenced in the track “A House in Nebraska.”

This development comes on the heels of the release of her experimental drone art, Perverts, in January. Willoughby Tucker, I Will Always Love You will document Ethel Cain‘s fictional universe, with the events occurring in 1986, a year she has referred to as “the year everything changed forever.” The album will expand on the dark, emotional material for which she is famous, giving fans a glimpse into the characters and stories that are the foundation of her work.

In addition to the album, Cain also confirmed the Willoughby Tucker Forever Tour, which is an overseas tour that she will embark upon in North America and Europe from August till November 2025. She starts on the 12th of August in Seattle and will perform in principal cities such as Los Angeles, New York, London, Berlin, and Paris before concluding her tour on November 9th in Lisbon.

Willoughby Tucker Forever Tour tickets go on sale on March 28, 2025, with a presale on March 26. Fans will be treated to a mix of brand-new tracks from the new album and fan favorites from Preacher’s Daughter. The tour will be a feast of Cain’s imagination and treat audiences to an immersive experience that brings her world to life.
