Offset and JID Drop New Single “Bodies”

Offset and JID just dropped a bombshell collab that’s shaking up the summer. Their new track Bodies is a gritty, genre-bending statement piece—sampling Drowning Pool’s haunting 2001 nu-metal classic and flipping it into a dark, cinematic hip-hop banger.

Offset, fresh off a string of experimental solo drops, proves once again that he’s not afraid to step outside the trap comfort zone. Produced with raw intensity, “Bodies” opens with the whispered line “Let the bodies hit the floor,” but don’t expect a cheap throwback. This one’s built different. Add in a powerful gospel sample from The Spirituals choir, and the record plays like a sermon from the shadows—equal parts rage, reflection, and resurrection.

Offset’s verses are personal and sharp: “Out the dirt, but the chain still muddy,” he raps, standing tall in a track about perseverance and power. JID, always one to bend language into art, brings the lyrical heat with rapid-fire flows and thought-provoking lines. Together, their chemistry is undeniable—slick, intense, and layered.

Offset even took the director’s chair for the music video, which brings the track’s themes to life. Set in a stormy, symbolic world filled with religious iconography, blurred lines between life and death, and flashes of spiritual reckoning, it’s as gripping visually as it is sonically. The imagery of ringing church bells against a crumbling backdrop adds emotional weight to an already charged single.

In Offset’s own words:

“‘Bodies’ is about standing on who you are. I’ve evolved. I’m not in a box, and this track shows that. JID came with the exact energy I needed. This ain’t the peak—just the rise.”

“Bodies” feels like a moment. A record that pushes boundaries, breaks form, and reminds listeners that real artistry doesn’t sit still.
