Powerful Partnership of Drake and 21 Savage

Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) recently discussed his Yeezy ventures, collaborations with Ty Dolla Sign, and more.

During the extensive interview, one of the standout moments was Ye’s praise for Drake and 21 Savage. When discussing his work with Ty and recognizing the right collaborators, Ye described the duo as “such a great combination.”

Reflecting on his partnership with Ty, Ye shared, “Man, Ty and I have been making music together for so long. What people see now, they probably didn’t realize initially. It’s like, ‘Oh, Ty wrote on ‘FourFiveSeconds.’ He wrote on ‘Only One,’ ‘Real Friends,’ and ‘Fade.’ He contributed to records I did with Paul McCartney. And now, with these whole albums, people are like, ‘Oh wow, they really make great music together, some of the best music.'”

Drake and 21 Savage have teamed up on several songs, including “Knife Talk” from Certified Lover Boy, “Mr. Right Now,” and “Sneakin’.” Despite their history of conflicts, with Drake taking shots at Ye on “Circo Loco” from the 2022 album Her Loss, they made amends for the Free Larry Hoover Concert. In “Circo Loco,” Drake rapped, “Linking with the opps, b**ch, I did that shit for J. Prince / B**ch, I did it for the mob ties.” Ye later addressed this on Twitter, saying, “Enough already. I done gave this man his flowers multiple times.”

During his interview, Ye also talked about collaborating with his daughter, North West, on new music. He praised her talent, saying, “She’s an incredible artist. She produces all her own music, and it’s a true reflection of her identity, from her performances to her lyrics.”

Ye likened working with North to his formative years in the music industry, remarking, “Collaborating with my daughter as a rapper feels like my early days working with iconic bands like The Rolling Stones and U2.” North West recently appeared on “TALKING” from Ye and Ty’s VULTURES 1, which was released in February.
