Thanks to a timeless design, intriguing outfits, and a wide range of hip collaborators, the Nike Dunk Low has maintained its relevance over the previous 37 years.
The Swoosh has also taken matters into its own hands over that period, reinventing the shape to suit new target markets and requirements. Images of the Nike Dunk Low Remastered 3.0, which expands on Peter Moore’s basketball creation from 1985, have just surfaced.
The shoe preserves the D.N.A. of the Nike Dunk, but it prioritizes the deconstructed appearance popularized by the model’s Disrupt and Scrap variants.
The configuration of the panels along the tongue is different, and the tongue itself chooses to have exposed foam and expanded construction. Standard leather base layers are swapped out with permeable mesh, giving the shoe a more pleasant ride.
The sole unit also combines the old with the new, with tread covering the toe tip, a new traction pattern underfoot, and contemporary “AIR” branding to complete the transformation.
