Kyrie Irving is seeking to distance himself from Nike by wearing taped-over sneakers with explicit messages on them indicating that he is in search of a new endorsement deal. This comes after Irving’s split with the brand.
Singer Musiq Soulchild recently spoke to TMZ about a pair of foam shoes he was wearing that were inspired by Crocs. When asked about the brand, Soulchild revealed that they were from SIA Collective, a Black-owned shoe company. SIA Collective, a Black-owned shoe company based in Oakland, is owned by Devlin Carter and has around 400K followers on Instagram. Musiq Soulchild mentioned in an interview that the company is currently in negotiations with Kyrie Irving for a shoe deal. SIA stands for Somewhere In America.
“These shoes are made by a Black man. His name is Devlin. He has his own company called SIA Collective…He’s actually in talks trying to work out a deal with Kyrie Irving.”
Musiq Soulchild stated in an interview that Kyrie Irving is in negotiations with SIA Collective, a Black-owned shoe company based in Oakland, for a potential partnership. However, neither Irving nor the company’s owner, Devlin Carter, have commented on the matter.
