Doja Cat, the renowned rapper, made a striking appearance at the opening of Haute Couture week in Paris, as she walked the runway for Schiaparelli‘s show, adorned in full red body paint and a dazzling array of 30,000 crystals. The bold look, dubbed “Doja’s Inferno“, took her team a total of five hours to create, under the direction of Schiaparelli’s creative director, Daniel Roseberry, and renowned British make-up artist Dame Pat McGrath.
The final look was described as a “magical, mesmerizing masterpiece of sparkling brilliance” by Pat McGrath, who also praised Doja Cat for her “sublime patience” during the process. The striking appearance consisted of a full red body paint, adorned by 30,000 Swarovski crystals applied by hand. In addition to the body paint, the singer wore a red silk bustier, a heavily beaded tulip skirt, and a pair of matching red knee-high boots. Dame Pat posted a behind-the-scenes time-lapse video showing her team painting the star’s skin and applying the thousands of crystals.
Schiaparelli, the fashion house founded in 1927 by Elsa Schiaparelli, has recently been worn by a number of celebrities such as Rihanna, Kendall Jenner, and Julia Roberts on the red carpet.
