The music industry is buzzing with excitement as rumors circulate that pop icon Rihanna is planning to embark on a global tour. The singer’s recent return to the stage for the Super Bowl Halftime Show has reignited interest in her musical career and many fans are eager for more. A source close to the singer told The Sun that she has already mapped out her North American tour for 2023 and European dates will be announced for 2024. The tour is said to consist of mini residencies in major cities rather than multiple visits, and will be limited in length due to her focus on her beauty and lingerie brands, Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty.
Though the promise of a tour does not necessarily mean a new album is in the works, Rihanna was recently seen in the studio and contributed two songs, “Lift Me Up” and “Born Again,” to the soundtrack of Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever. Despite the Super Bowl Halftime Show being just 12 minutes long, Rihanna told E! News’ Justin Sylvester that she is not nervous about filling the time, having performed two-hour shows throughout her career. She is also considering the possibility of bringing surprise guests along with her on the tour.
“Twelve minutes? You could actually do that by yourself, but it’s one of those things where you can decorate it however you want. So whether I choose to do it for myself or whether I choose to bring some of my peers on, it’s…I don’t know what I’m gonna do yet.”
