Lil Wayne is set to embark on a nationwide tour this spring, with a stop in Toronto included in the itinerary. Dubbed as the “Welcome to Tha Carter Tour”, the journey begins in Minneapolis in early April and will come to a close in Los Angeles by mid-May. The rapper has been quite active in the music scene since the release of his 13th studio album, Funeral, in 2020. He received a presidential pardon, which was a significant milestone in his career, and later collaborated with Rich the Kid on their album, “Trust Fund Babies,” which was released in 2021. In addition to this, Lil Wayne has made several guest appearances on tracks by Latto and Run the Jewels, and has been working on new material with Roddy Ricch, Polo G, and Calboy.
His hard work and contribution to the music industry have not gone unnoticed. Lil Wayne is slated to receive the Global Impact Award from the Black Music Collective at the 2023 Grammys, alongside legendary musicians such as Missy Elliott, Dr. Dre, and Sylvia Rhone, the CEO of Epic Records. The award recognizes the impact that he has made on the global music scene and highlights his achievements in the industry.
