Vevo’s acclaimed CTRL series recently welcomed Offset, one-third of the influential hip-hop group Migos, to its stage. In this electrifying performance, Offset showcased “On the River,” the opening track from his latest solo endeavor, “Set It Off.” Accompanied by his son, Wave Set, who emulated his father’s style with braided cornrows and chains, Offset delivered a memorable performance that resonated with fans and music enthusiasts alike.
“Set It Off,” Offset’s 21-track album, made its debut on October 12, featuring a star-studded lineup of collaborations with industry heavyweights. Cardi B, Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Future, Mango Foo, Latto, Young Nudy, and Chlöe all contributed their talents to this musical masterpiece, adding depth and diversity to the project.
Among the standout tracks are “Jealousy,” a collaboration with Offset’s wife Cardi B, and the infectious hit “Fan.” The album also includes a track called “Freaky,” where Offset and his wife join forces once again, showcasing their musical chemistry. Noteworthy visuals accompanied the album, including a Michael Jackson-inspired video for “Fan” and the visually stunning “Say My Grace,” shot in Thailand and featuring La Flame.
“Set It Off” marks a significant milestone in Offset’s solo career, following his 2019 debut album, “Father of 4,” which featured the hit single “Clout.” The album’s release was eagerly anticipated, with fans eagerly awaiting new music from the talented artist. However, the project’s unveiling was postponed following the tragic passing of Migos member Takeoff on November 1, 2022, adding a layer of depth and emotion to Offset’s latest musical offerings.
