Today, Spotify unveils the top artists, songs, and albums that more than 381 million people around the globe listened to in 2021. The streaming platform announces that its users preferred getting nostalgic and ‘rediscover old favorites.’
For the second year in a row, the Puerto Rican vocalist Bad Bunny becomes the No. 1 streamed artist with over 9.1 billion streams on Spotify. The reggaetenero beat out the artists like Taylor Swift (who comes in at No. 2), BTS (No. 3), Drake (No. 4), and even Justin Bieber (No. 5). See the full list of top-streamed artists below.
The top song of 2021 is “drivers license” by Olivia Rodrigo with over 1.1 billion streams. Lil Nas X takes second place with his “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” and Justin Bieber’s collaborative track with The Kid LAROI, “Stay,” takes third.
And once again Olivia Rodrigo takes the crown. Her debut album “Sour” becomes the top album of 2021, followed by Dua Lipa‘s “Future Nostalgia,” which takes second place, and Justin Bieber‘s “Justice,” ranked third.
