In 2020, New Balance reintroduced the 2002R model, which has been given various colorways and makeovers since then. One new version, featuring removable pouches in a signature grey colorway, was released last year. Now, the company is adding similar mesh pockets to another colorway called “Midnight Green.”
The “Sea Salt” colorway features a knit mesh base and leather trimmings, with “Sea Salt” colored overlays. The mudguards, lacing systems, medial panels, and rears feature the same color, while dark green accents appear on the heel tabs, liners, and profile logos. The sack is designed to hang from the laces and has a small zipper to store items. It is adorned with New Balance branding on the circular tongue emblems, tails, and ankles. The shoes will be available for purchase later this year for $140 USD through New Balance and select retailers.
